Which blender is better Blendtec or Vitamix?

I think it depends on your purpose. Finding the best blender for Green Smoothies, Crushing Ice, the purpose has never been comfortable with plenty of brands flooding the market

“Better” actually depends on how you use your blender. While both blenders can do pretty much everything fairly well, there are some instances where a Blendtec will fare better than a Vitamix, and vice versa.

If you are distracted, which blender is the best among Vitamix or Blendtec, check out the full review. I have Vitamix and Blendtec blenders and, surprisingly, they’re different.

The Blendtec blenders are easier to clean but batter food into submission with their blunt blades.

The Vitamix blender is not terrible to clean but not as easy; it will however puree stuff to a fine froth.

Think about how you will use one of these blenders then go to Costco and ask the demonstrators to show you how each does with your predicted tasks.

Both Vitamix and Blendtec blender make green smoothies, but these are also the best value blenders most used at coffee shops for blended coffees like Starbucks makes, etc.

Starbucks has gone back and forth within using Blendtec and Vitamix, often due to their glass jar. Yes, the square jar that was patented by Blendtec is better at making the ice blended frappe-type drinks you’re used to!

Difference between Blendtec or Vitamix Blender

Blendtec Blender :

A Blendtec blender uses blunt force impact to pulverize food. You can think of it as using a baseball bat to smash a watermelon. Because of this, the blades in a Blendtec blender aren’t very sharp and they don’t require a tamper as the Vitamix does.

Blendtec’s dual blades are large and curved at the ends, kind of like aircraft wings.

  • Blendtec blenders are better suited for crushing (hard seeds & nuts, frozen food, ice).
  • While Blendtec blenders can also liquefy and grind materials into a fine powder, it takes slightly longer to do so.

Vitamix Blender

A Vitamix blender uses a combination of some blunt force influence and some fine chopping.

Vitamix blenders have four blades—two of them that point upward are VERY sharp, and the other two that are flat are slightly less sharp. Vitamix blender blades are also a lot smaller than Blendtec blades, allowing for much higher RPM.

  • Vitamix blenders have a slight edge when it comes to liquefying and grinding.
  • While Vitamix blenders can also crush, it takes slightly longer to do so.

Is blendtec better than vitamix ?

The Vitamix or BlendTec, which are roughly equivalent is simply much more powerful than other blenders. Here are some of the advantages I have found:

  • The motor is ridiculously strong. I can blend whole fruits and veggies, frozen or fresh, without much additional liquid. Check out the Blendtec “Will it Blend” videos for dramatic demos.
  • I can do some light food processing tasks, like shredding carrots
  • I don’t like crushed ice, but I could crush ice if I wanted to.
  • I can grind all wheat and corn into fresh flour and cornmeal. It’s astonishing.
  • The base of the blender just contains the motor; the blades and jar are one sealed unit. This means it doesn’t leak like more affordable blenders.
  • They are sturdy; I have had my Vitamix blender for years and it is still going strong.

Downsides:

  • A Vitamix or Blendtec blender is much more expensive. If you want a Vitamix definitely, I’d check your local Costco. They tend to have the best rates.
  • For Blendtec, look for buying advertising through a food blog.

Is a Vitamix blender worth the price?

If you will be doing a lot of blending particularly hard raw vegetables, nuts, seeds, etcetera then the Vitamix blender is worth it. Also using a powerful blender like a Vitamix will allow you to make more simple healthy meals like raw soups or snacks like pure nut butter.

Some slightly inexpensive blenders offer similar power but they aren’t built like a Vitamix so with a Vitamix you get what you pay for and they will last.

Overall, I love Vitamix, but they are not for everyone. I’d suggest starting with a $20 blender to see if you use the thing. If you find yourself making smoothies all-time, consider an upgrade. If you use it twice a year, the cheap blender will work just fine. Over here at Quiddity, we think the Vitamix blenders are worth it! It is incredibly durable and has excellent puree execution.
